'Twilight' star Taylor Lautner has endured rumors of his sexual preference, but someone took the prodding a bit further.
A faked People magazine cover with an "out and proud" Taylor Lautner spread online Monday, convincing people Lautner had finally come out as a gay man.
The faked Jan. 7, 2012 People issue shows the "Twilight" star announcing he's gay and "tired of the rumors."
Lautner was fake quoted as saying he was "more liberated, and happier than I've ever been."
Even Def Jam's Russell Simmons use Twitter to congratulate Taylor: "proud of Taylor Lautner for his bravery and his courage."
When told of the hoax, Simmons tweeted: "disappointed that people would joke about someone coming out about their sexuality. Let Taylor Lautner be whoever he wants to be....".
A representative for Lautner released a statement that the People cover was “absolutely fake.”
Lautner is currently single.
