Unlucky in love, lucky in financial windfall: Mel Gibson's ex-wife Robyn is set for life as she is reportedly over $400 million richer in her divorce settlement.

Mel Gibson's long drawn out divorce is shaping up to be one of the biggest settlements in all of Hollywood history.

Married to the "Mad Max" star in Australia, Robyn, who was married to Gibson for 31 years, did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement when they married in 1980.

They had seven children in what was always described in past features and interviews as a devout Catholic union. Gibson even built his own Catholic church in Agoura Hills, California.

Robyn has reclaimed her maiden name of Moore too.

Divorce proceedings began in 2009 after Gibson was caught in Costa Rica with his then girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who was pregnant with his eighth child.

Robyn had reportedly separated from Mel three years prior, at the time of Gibson’s arrest in Malibu for DUI and his subsequent published anti-Semitic rant that was leaked from the Lost Hills Sheriffs' Station.

During the messy and embarrassing split with Oksana, Robyn backed Gibson and vouched for his paternal reputation, saying Mel was a “wonderful and loving father” who never hit or abused anyone.

Gibson pleaded no contest in 2011 to a domestic battery charge leveled by Oksana, and was put on three years’ informal probation and ordered to have counseling and do community service.

This settlement is in the league with News Corp's titan Rupert Murdoch’s divorce “the most expensive divorce in history" and businessman Adnan Khashoggi’s divorce, both reported near the billion dollar mark.
