Liz Taylor auction tops 154 million dollars

New York - An auction of Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor's personal jewellery, clothing and artwork fetched 154.2 million dollars at Christie's in New York.
Interest from around the world was overwhelming, said Marc Porter, president of Christie's America, at the close of the four-day sale. Online sales continued until Saturday evening.
The auction house said sales were seven-times expectations.
At the final day of in-person bidding, an autographed photograph of Taylor's friend Michael Jackson sold for 146,500 dollars.
New world records were set with the sale of Taylor's jewellery earlier in the week.
