Singer Jennifer Lopez has faced criticism for appearing in the new Fiat commercial using a body double to film the scenes from the ‘Bronx.’
The 42-year-old ‘Jenny from the Block’ pop star is filmed driving through her hometown while telling us how much it means to her. It has emerged, however, that Lopez did not leave Los Angeles to do any of her filming and did not even set foot in the Bronx.
J-Lo is quoted from the advert saying “Here, this is my world. This place inspires me to be tougher, to stay sharper, to think faster.”
Lopez then adds “'They may be just streets to you, but to me, they’re a playground.”
The ‘misleading’ advert prompted a response from Lopez’s spokesman, Mark Young.
He told the New York Post "Her portion was filmed in Los Angeles. I don't see a problem. There are many cases where films are done the same way."
Fiat issued the following statement relating to the advert:
“Both commercials featuring Jennifer Lopez were indeed filmed in the Bronx as well as outside locations. As you may know, in today's world, people are increasingly mobile and their work takes them to a variety of locations. As a result, we took the opportunity to film wherever Ms. Lopez was working at the time to accommodate her schedule.”
