Ruben Studdard to divorce wife of three years

American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, who bested Clay Aiken, has filed for divorce.
The gentle giant from Alabama who was a Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell favorite, 33, is divorcing his wife Surata Zuri McCants of three years.
Studdard and McCants wed in Birmingham, Alabama at the Canterbury United Methodist Church back in 2008 in a lavish wedding that boasted many attendees.
People reported the couple ended their marriage over "irreconcilable differences."
Studdard’s rep Jocelyn R. Coleman shared with E! News, "Ruben and Zuri have gone their separate ways."
Studdard went on to great success after Idol, his LP "Souful" earned him a nomination for a Grammy Award for his single “Superstar.”
Studdard's second album "I Need an Angel" debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 chart. This was followed by "The Return."
