"Heroes" actor Zachary Quinto has finally revealed he is a gay man.
His sexual preference was made clear in an interview with New York Magazine. Quinto had starred for many months in a New York stage revival of Angels in America, cast as Louis Ironson, a man who abandons his AIDS-stricken boyfriend.
In a new interview in New York, Quinto revealed the work he completed on Broadway was the hardest he had done, and added "as a gay man, it made me feel like there's still so much work to be done, and there's still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed."
Regarding the burden of being homosexual in a restrictive society, Quinto said, "there's a hopelessness that surrounds it."
"Where's this disparity coming from, and why can't we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that?" he says. "We're terrified of facing ourselves."
