Actor Brad Pitt was interviewed by Parade magazine, and he ventured into painful past history and spoke of his ex wife Jennifer Aniston.
Pitt summed up his existence before meeting Angelina Jolie as "pathetic," a life filled with boredom, pot smoking and "hiding." Brad said: “I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic.”
Hollywood actor apparently opened up about his marriage to the former "Friends" star in which he said, “I think my marriage (with Aniston) had something to do with it: trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”
Pitt was effusive about Angelina Jolie: “One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie (Jolie) as their mom. She is such a great mom. Oh man, I’m so happy to have her.”
Pitt, who is currently filming zombie movie "World War Z," continued to heap praise his current partner Angelina Jolie, 36. Brad added: “With a partner like Angie, I know that when I’m working, the kids are happy, safe and prospering. And when Angie’s working, she knows she has the same.”
Well, after the Pitt hit the fan yesterday, Brad now claims his comments were misinterpreted, in a statement issued late Thursday.
In a statement to E! Online, Pitt said, "It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly."
He added, "The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself -- and that, I am responsible for."
Pitt and Aniston, 42, were married five years until Pitt was cast alongside Angelina Jolie in "Mr and Mrs Smith." Jolie snapped Pitt out of his boredom rut and wound up being the catalyst in their marriage bust-up.
