Derek Jeter loses another hot babe: Minka Kelly splits

What is it about Derek Jeter?

The man has squired Adriana Lima, Mariah Carey, Jessica Biel, Vanessa Minnillo, Jordana Brewster, Rachel Uchitel, Lara Dutta and even Jessica Alba, but now the pride of the Yankees is kaput with his latest: Minka Kelly.

Soon to star in ABC's "Charlie's Angels", Kelly's split from New York Yankees star Derek Jeter was confirmed Friday by People magazine.

Monsters and Critics was there at the Television Critics' Association summer press junket, when the questions were asked of Minka to describe her character Eve and how her hectic childhood tied her into the character's mindset.

Kelly said, "Well, the thing about Eve is that, because she was an orphan and she was on her own her entire life and she had to fight for herself and fend for herself and sort of survive, I think I have a lot in common with her on that aspect. I am an only child, and I was raised by a single mother, and we moved around a lot. And I understand what that’s about, and I also understand what it is to create your own family. And I’m really attracted to that aspect of the show, as far as making these girls and Bosley my family. And I think that I’m not alone in that. I think there’s a lot of people in the world and a lot of girls and guys out there that have that in common with myself and Eve."

When asked how her unstable childhood shaped her as a person, Kelly said, "I think it’s made me very adaptable. I feel like I’m very proud of the fact that I think you could put me in any room and I could I would be okay."

Apparently, sharing a room with Jeter was not okay for Kelly anymore.  

Kelly and Jeter dated for three years which is a long time for the Baseball star. "They care about each other," says another source to People. "They're still friends."
