"The Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was hospitalized in London earlier this week, according to British paper The Sun.
The Golden Globe-winning actor reportedly tried to commit suicide after taking a large number of pills.
Paramedics arrived on the scene when an emergency 999 call was placed Tuesday night; the 33-year-old actor reportedly refused treatment.
Meyers was taken to a hospital near his home in Maida Vale, Central London, and was discharged from the hospital early Wednesday morning.
Meyers has had issues with alcohol with stays at the Promises rehab facility in California back in 2005 and returned for further treatment in 2007.
In 2007, a grieving Rhys Meyers was arrested and charged (later dropped) at Dublin Airport for being drunk and disorderly when he was returning home to attend his mother's funeral.
According to The Sun, Meyers entered a rehabilitation center in South Africa. This was the fifth time the actor entered rehab to help him with his addiction.
Meyers won critical acclaim for his role as King Henry VIII in the Showtime drama "The Tudors," portraying Henry from a fit young man to his middle-age years.
