Summer of 2011 'it' couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (formerly Kate Middleton) and William, Duke of Cambridge were the stars of a glamorous London fundraiser.

Kate, 29, dazzled crowds at the 10th annual Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) gala dinner.  The children's charity benefit was at Perks Field, near Kensington Palace, where the couple have a home.

William and Prince Harry's foundation and ARK "share a common vision and commitment to transform the lives of disadvantaged children in the U.K. and around the world," the palace said in a statement.

The couple were joined by designer Tom Ford, socialite Jemima Khan Prince Pavlos of Greece and Princess Marie-Chantal.

Next up will be the whirlwind tour of North America, as Prince William and Kate will visit next month, even taking in a cattle rodeo in Calgary, Canada.

People magazine reported that the newlywed couple's 11-day tour will take them through Canada and even to California.

July 3: Quebec City
July 3-4: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

July 6-8: Calgary, Alberta

July 8: Los Angeles, for promoting Britain.
