Los Angeles - The woman who is pressing criminal assault charges against Lindsay Lohan has been fired from the Betty Ford rehab centre for speaking publicly about the incident, reports said Wednesday.
The woman, Dawn Holland, prompted a police investigation after alleging that Lohan assaulted her when she confronted the troubled star on her return from a visit to a bar this weekend. She spoke to celebrity website TMZ.com about the incident, claiming that Lohan, 24, pushed her and threw a phone at her as Lohan flew into a rage after being caught drinking. Lohan denies the assault allegations.
In a statement the Betty Ford centre said that the staffer was fired for disclosing privileged documents and identifying patients.
Lohan is at the southern California rehab centre until at least January 3 on court orders to address drug and alcohol addiction problems. The centre regularly tests her for drug and alcohol use and Lohan could be in more trouble for violating the terms of her probation if she tests positive.
