Manitoba, Canada's www.CJOB.com News Team is reporting that Canadian actor Leslie Nielsen, who starred in so many classic comedies, has passed away in hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Nielsen, who perfected the role of bumbling Frank Drebin of the "Police Squad" films, the "Naked Gun," and who was a standout player in "Airplane" and in the horror anthology "Creepshow," reportedly has died of complications from pneumonia.
“Today at 5:30 with his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away,” his nephew Doug Nielsen told Manitoba radio station CJOB68.
Leslie Nielsen was 84 years old.
