Zac Efron dodges fans

Zac Efron dodged fans by escaping down a hotel drainpipe.

The 'Charlie St. Cloud' actor was forced to take drastic action when he was desperate for some time alone outside of his room, but had to dodge hundreds of loyal supporters waiting outside.

He said: "Recently I was in a hotel surrounded by fans, so I hopped over the balcony, climbed down the drainpipe and went for a walk."

The 22-year-old star - who is in a relationship with 'High School Musical' co-star Vanessa Hudgens - has also used a disguise to conceal his identity from people and was amazed his basic camouflage worked.

He explained: "I disguised myself once and you could see people go, 'Wait, is that.? Oh no, he's got a moustache.' "

Though Zac is comfortable with his fame, he, Vanessa and their co-star Ashley Tisdale were left shocked when their fans almost caused a car accident because they were so desperate to speak to their idols.

He recalled: "I was in France with Vanessa and Ashley and we were in a car after a premiere.

"The car couldn't pull out because there were too many fans, and the fans started to lift it up with us in it.

"We were being slid back and forth, it was just hilarious. We thought it was going to flip over."
