Teri Hatcher set up by mother

Teri Hatcher's mother is always trying to set her up on dates.

The 'Desperate Housewives' star - who is currently single - says her mum is keen for her start a new relationship so is constantly on the lookout for a future son-in-law and thought she found the ideal person during a recent holiday.

The 45-year-old beauty said: "There is still no new man, but it is not for lack of my family and friends trying.

"My mother goes a cruise with her girlfriend and she sends me a picture. She's e-mailing me what a great time she's having. She sends me a picture that says, 'I'm with our private guide in Dubrovnik' and the e-mail says, 'He's very available and very undemanding.'

"I thought, 'OK, well wait. First of all, he's 12 and he lives in Italy.' But 'undemanding'? That's the overriding quality my mom thinks I'm looking for? He's very undemanding?!"

Teri - who has a 12-year-old daughter from her marriage to Marcus Leithold - also spoke about her views on sleeping with a man on the first date, saying it depends on the situation.

She told US TV show 'The View': "I think that the destiny of what two human beings are together is probably there from the first date or not. Meaning that if you're with a guy that is more interested if you hold back and keep it from him for six dates or whatever, that's gonna manifest itself in some ugly way later. And if you're with a guy that just wants to throw you out because you sleep with him on the first date, he was probably gonna do that by the fifth date anyway.

"I think you have to look for the human being in each unique situation - this coming from the person who hasn't been in a relationship in seven years!"
