No regrets for Usher

Usher has no regrets about his failed marriage.

The 'OMG' hitmaker - who filed for divorce from Tameka Foster in June 2009 after almost two years of marriage - admitted while he still loves his ex-wife, their relationship would never have worked out.

He explained: "I appreciate the relationship for what it was. Even though it didn't work out, I'm glad we got together. I love her as the mother of my children; we just couldn't be married."

"We're two different people and we have two different goals. It was just never going to work out 100 per cent."

The singer admitted he and Tameka have now agreed to put aside their differences for the sake of their two sons - Usher V, two, and 20-month-old Naviyd - but his inner emotions about the split can be heard in his songwriting.

He added to People magazine: " We had to put our issues aside and focus on raising them. There will never be another mother for my sons, and I'll always be their father.

"My music is about where I am at the time. In 'Raymond vs. Raymond', I was going through a lot of things, and it came out in my music. My marriage fell apart and I was suddenly a single father. But now, with 'Versus', I'm singing about being a dating father. I still believe in love. I believe in marriage. When I fall in love again, everyone will know. I'll sing about it."
