Executive producer and actor Mark Wahlberg was given a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood today.
The Boston native next appears opposite Will Ferrell in the buddy comedy "The Other Guys," opening on August 6.
Wahlberg thanked "all the people gutsy enough to put me in movies."
Wahlberg is also a family man with four children now, and talked to Access Hollywood about his empathy for Michael Lohan. “I met him once or twice… But she’s (Lindsay Lohan) certainly in my prayers,” Mark told Access Hollywood on Thursday just after his star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Anybody that’s having any kind of trouble and needs saving I try to pray for.”
Wahlberg earned an Oscar nomination for his role as the volatile Sgt. Dignam in "The Departed."
Wahlberg has a solid career as an executive producer on the HBO series "Entourage," "In Treatment," "How to Make it in America" and the upcoming "Boardwalk Empire."
