Los Angeles - Hollywood diva Zsa Zsa Gabor was said to be in critical condition after undergoing hip replacement surgery earlier in the week, her husband told the German Press Agency dpa.
Gabor was in a 'very poor constitution,' Frederic Prinz von Anhalt told the German Press Agency dpa.
'Her eyes are open, but she just looks at the wall,' he said. US media reported that Gabor had suffered a stroke during a hip operation Monday.
Doctors were forced to schedule hip replacement surgery for the celebrity legend after she fell from her bed in Los Angeles.
The 93-year-old broke her hip when she fell trying to answer the telephone, von Anhalt, 67, said.
Gabor is best remembered for 1950s classics such as Lili and Touch of Evil, and for her several high-profile husbands, including hotel magnate Conrad Hilton and Oscar-winning actor George Sanders.
The actress has been partially paralysed since a 2002 car accident.
