Proud grandfather Jon Voight

Jon Voight's favourite job is being a grandfather.

The Oscar-winning actor recently rekindled his relationship with daughter Angelina Jolie after years of estrangement and is now enjoying every moment of spending quality time with the six children the actress raises with partner Brad Pitt.

He told Hollyscoop.com: "Every stage in your life has delights, thank God. And also dramas. Oh my gosh being a grandfather is the most wonderful thing, it really is.

"I hope to see them soon."

Jon and Angelina reconciled in February, with Jon joining the family in Venice, Italy, and he says it was a joint decision to put their problems behind them.

When asked who started the proceedings, Jon replied: "We did together."

Jon has previously spoken of his delight at being reunited with Angelina saying it was "wonderful".

Speaking on his return from Italy, Jon said: "It was good. We spent quality time together. I don't want to talk about it too much but it was wonderful."

The 71-year-old star also praised Brad, describing him as "terrific".

The 'Wanted' actress - who has three adopted children, Maddox, eight, five-year-old Zahara and Pax, six, and three biological children, Shiloh, three, and 22-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne with Brad - has been at war with her dad for years after he accused her of having "mental problems" shortly after her split from ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton in 2002.

The screen veteran has previously spoken about how he hoped to reconcile with his daughter on a permanent basis, saying: "We're in touch, but not regularly. We love each other and that's the most important thing."
