Redmond O'Neal out of rehab
May 13, 2010, 12:29 GMT
Redmond O'Neal has been released from rehab.
The 25-year-old son of Ryan O'Neal and late actress Farrah Fawcett has left the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, California, and has now been moved to a sober living environment.
His lawyer Richard Pintal said: "It's a big, big day for Redmond. Redmond has come so far. He's really feeling great."
The judge on the case also praised Redmond for how well he is doing.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan said: "He has made excellent progress and made positive decisions over the course of the last several months."
Last September, Redmond was moved from jail to the rehab centre for a one-year-residential program.
In January, he was arrested on drug charges when he was let out on 24-hour leave and sent back to jail.
After one month, he went back to the facility, where he has been ever since.
While there, he penned a note in which he vowed to turn his life around.
He said: "My plan is to go back with a new attitude and leave my old ideas behind. I am committed to doing this thing."
Redmond previously received treatment at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California, for a January 2008 drug arrest.
