Chace Crawford dating British rose

Chace Crawford has been romancing a British actress while stranded in London.

The 'Gossip Girl' star was unable to return to the US from the UK capital because of the now-lifted flight ban caused by the volcanic ash from Iceland, but rather than stay in his hotel room Chace busied himself with romance.

The handsome actor took the blonde beauty, only known as Tessa, to restaurant Le Caprice and exclusive nightspot Whiskey Mist after being introduced to her by a mutual friend.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Chace was trapped in London, so he spent his time with Tessa. They were introduced by a friend and really hit it off."

Although Chace - who plays Nate Archibald in 'Gossip Girl' - has now gone back to his native America he plans to see Tessa again.

The source added: "He had to return to the US for work, but he hopes he'll see her again."

It seems Chace has had a change of heart when it comes to romance as at the beginning off the year he insisted he was happy to be single.

The 24-year-old star - who previously dated Carrie Underwood - said at the time: "I'm 24 in New York, so I'm not exactly coming home every night plucking the violin strings. But when it happens, it happens."
