Kele Okereke plans New York move
Apr 10, 2010, 6:00 GMT
Kele Okereke is moving to New York.
The Bloc Party frontman fell in love with the city while recording his debut solo LP 'The Boxer' and is determined to relocate within the next few months.
He said: "Making a record has really made me fall in love with New York. I'd never seen the soul of the city until I recorded my record there.
"It made me realise I have to move there. I'm going to move there this year."
As well as giving him a love of New York, the 'Helicopter' hitmaker also discovered an admiration for his own voice while recording the album.
He explained: "I think my greatest asset is my emotive-sounding voice and for a long time I rallied against that.
"It's really in 2009 that I've come to savour the quality of my voice. It's strange talking about your own voice as something separate from you - it isn't for me, but it seems to have an effect on people."
