Alex Reid can't remember proposing to Katie Price.

The cage fighter - who tied the knot with the glamour model in a low-key surprise ceremony in February - admits he had consumed so much alcohol before he popped the question, their engagement is just a blur.

He said: "I can't remember - I was that drunk! I didn't know what I was doing!"

While Alex finds it strange adapting to his new life, he loves being a step-father to Katie's three children, Harvey, seven, Junior, four, and two-year-old Princess Tiaamii from previous relationships.

He added to more! magazine: "They're mucky little b***ers! We all went to Euro Disney together recently and they're so noisy. But they're lovely. That was my first holiday as a step-dad and it was amazing. It's nice to do the family thing."

Alex recently admitted he didn't want to get married until he started dating Katie and claims he is still bemused by their union.

He said: "I never wanted to get married. I thought maybe one day. But I never wanted this. I'm not knocking it. But I was quite happy with my life.

"I ask myself every day: 'Why have I got this ring on my finger?' "
