Los Angeles - Oscar winner Anna Paquin, 27, revealed Thursday that she is bisexual. The star of the hit TV series True Blood, who won an Oscar in 1994 for her supporting role in The Piano, made the announcement in a video for The Give a Damn campaign, which promotes gay and lesbian equality.
'I'm bisexual, and I give a damn,' says Paquin, who's engaged to British actor Stephen Moyer. 'One hate crime is committed approximately every hour of every day in this country.'
Other celebrities taking part in the campaign include Elton John, Cynthia Nixon, Whoopi Goldberg, Wanda Sykes, Jason Mraz, Mya, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper.
'Imagine walking down the street and wondering if this is the day you'll get beaten up or even killed, simply because of who you are,' Elton John says in the video, as chart-topped Mraz adds, 'It is time for things to change.'
