Maggie Gyllenhaal's lazy Oscar night
Mar 3, 2010, 12:04 GMT
Maggie Gyllenhaal watched last year's Oscar's ceremony in bed eating cereal.
The 32-year-old star- who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Crazy Heart' - admitted she was so tired from her work that she shunned attending the prestigious ceremony in favour of relaxing at home.
She said: "I've gone to the Academy Awards before. Once I presented the technical awards. And of course I was there when my brother was nominated.
"Last year I was doing the play 'Uncle Vanya' and I made a huge bowl of cereal and sat up in bed, still with my period corset on, watching."
Since being nominated for the 2010 ceremony - which takes place at Los Angeles Kodak Theatre on Sunday (07.03.10) - Maggie admitted she's secretly very excited, but is trying not to show it.
She told the New York Post newspaper: "This time I'm really even more into it. I'm thinking, well, maybe, these things really do mean something. But I did let go of the attachment because this time I seemed not to be getting any of the pre-Oscar nominations. I know I do want to go to the parties. I'm working with a couple of designers, and I'm still looking at dresses."
