Susan Boyle's brother claims the star needs "24-hour care" because of her star status.

The 'I Dreamed A Dream' singer - whose home in West Lothian, Scotland, was broken into by a fan last month - has found herself under considerable stress over the past year as she's struggled to deal with fame, and her family have now voiced their concerns at her well-being.

Eldest brother John said: "She needs 24-hour care. She needs to be looked after."

Her other sibling Gerry admitted he is also worried about the Scottish singing sensation's ability to handle the pressures of global stardom.

He told People magazine: "The travelling and the whole fame thing is exhausting. She still has her anxieties and her loneliness."

The single star - who has reportedly been making worried late-night calls to family and friends - has also recently had the stress of missing her much loved cat Pebbles, who is being looked after by retired accountant Pamela Eaton-Browne while Susan is travelling the world.

Long-time friend Lorraine Campbell also admitted she's had to be there for the lonely troubled star recently.

She said: "She knows she can come up to me anytime. If she's upset, she'll stay the night. Security would bring her up to my house. I take her home in the morning. Susan stayed with me a week ago. Night-time is a lonely time for her."
