Helena Bonham Carter insists she's "not posh."
The 'Alice In Wonderland' actress - whose relatives include a baron, a baroness and former British Prime Minister, Herbert Asquith - insists people should get to know her rather than making assumptions based on her name.
She said: "Everyone thinks I'm posh but that's shallow thinking and the biggest lie. They only think I'm posh because I've got three names."
The 43-year-old star - who has two children with her partner Tim Burton - recently said she is happy to be getting older as she no longer feels like a "corset sex symbol."
She said: "Ageing has helped hugely. There's no question I'm a better actor, and you leave behind a certain typecasting. I was like the corset bimbo. Well, not quite bimbo, but you know what I mean. The corset sex symbol, I suppose. Now I'm not going to be the sex symbol, I'm going to be the granny."
