Harrison Ford doesn't need awards

Feb 20, 2010, 9:30 GMT

Harrison Ford doesn't care about awards.

The 'Extraordinary Measures' star - who has never won a coveted Academy Award - insists he is happier to be hired for roles and to enjoy his time with his family and doesn't get too upset about missing out on accolades.

He said: "I don't care very much about awards. I'd rather make a living at what I do and have to do what I want with my family and the rest of my life.

"I'm not naturally drawn to the kind of performance that usually nets awards. I don't have experience in that area.

"I'm flattered when people recognise my work and wish to honour it, but it's not an important part of my process."

Despite saying it is important for him to play "different kinds of characters", Harrison, 67, would happily play adventuring archaeologist Indiana Jones for a fifth time.

He said: "If we find a script and we're able to develop a story in less than the 18 years it took to make the last one then yes, there will be an 'Indiana Jones 5'. If I'm still alive by then, I'll make myself available."
