Cheryl Cole heads to LA

Cheryl Cole has gone to Los Angeles.

The 'Fight For This Love' singer - who has been rocked by claims her soccer star husband Ashley Cole had an affair and was sending explicit text messages to other women - wore sunglasses and appeared deep in thought as she prepared to leave London's Heathrow Airport to continue with her scheduled week-long writing and recording trip to the US.

A spokesperson for the singer told the Mail Online website: "Cheryl is going to America for writing and recording sessions. This is a session that was scheduled last month. She is away for a week. We have no further comment to make."

As at the BRIT Awards last night (16.02.10), Cheryl was not wearing her £160,000 diamond wedding ring at the airport, but had another piece of jewellery in its place, though it was not clear if it was the replacement band that Ashley bought her in 2008 when he was first accused of cheating on her.

Cheryl - who reportedly banned Ashley from attending the ceremony last night following the allegations - cancelled all her promotion around the event but was desperate to give a show-stopping performance.

A source revealed: "Cheryl was determined that the show must go on, come what may. She is a professional through-and-through, and was not going to hide.

"By going ahead with her performance in front of the celebrity audience and the millions watching on TV, she was sending out a clear message to Ashley that he will not take her pride away - whatever he does."
