Stephen Baldwin dismisses brother Alec Baldwin's critics

Reality TV star Stephen Baldwin is loyal when it comes to family matters.

The star of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Her" and "Celebrity Big Brother" is talking to the press  and he is not happy at the treatment his big brother Alec Baldwin is receiving.

Alec Baldwin's younger brother Stephen Baldwin talked to "Extra" about Alec's quick trip to the hospital on Thursday.

"He's great," a metered Baldwin told Extra at a benefit for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund in West Hollywood.

He said the hospital visit was a "miscommunication," adding, "Everything's fine... there was nothing weird, nothing stupid."

Alex was rushed to a NYC hospital early Thursday morning after his daughter Ireland called 911. The actor was released a short time later.

On Thursday, the actor returned home to his NYC apartment after a long day of shooting to find paparazzi camped out.

Tim Wiencis from the New York Post reportedly began asking Baldwin questions as to the current emotional state of daughter Ireland, who reportedly called 911 on her father the night before.

E! News reported that Baldwin erupted:  "This guy! This guy!" then grabbed him by the shirt, as the police intervened and broke up the skirmish.

Stephen says his big brother is prepping for his big gig as Oscar co-host. "I was talking to him the other night, he said, 'You know, Steve Martin and I have been talking about some of the dialogue.'"

Baldwin and Martin will co-host the Oscars on March 7.
