Brittany Murphy died from drug toxicity says coroner

Brittany Murphy, Fame Pictures, Inc - Santa Monica, CA, USA - Murphy died from multiple drug intoxication, pneumonia and "iron deficiency anemia" in what the coroner reports was an "accidental death," first reported by TMZ.com.The actress, 32, was found in her shower collapsed by her mother Sharon on Dec. 20, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.Simon Monjack, Brittany's husband, and her mother Sharon said they believed Brittany's death was due to a congenital heart murmur and not from illegal drugs or suffered from an eating disorder. It was reported that Murphy had been suffering from flu-like symptoms in the days before her death.Prescription painkiller medicine was reportedly found by investigators on her nightstand. A full autopsy report is expected within two weeks.
