Best Actress Sandra Bullock

Jan 24, 2010, 13:04 GMT

Sandra Bullock was named the Best Actress at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards last night (23.01.10).

The 45-year-old star was given the coveted prize - the same honour she was awarded at the Golden Globes last week - for her role as Leigh Anne Tuohy in 'The Blind Side' and used her acceptance speech to brag about how much she loves her "hot" husband Jesse James.

While accepting the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role award, she said: "If this were only not televised so I could use the appropriate words I'm feeling right now.

"Jesse, you get dressed up in monkey suits and sit at tables with people you don't know.

"I love you so much and you're really hot and I want you so much."

Sandra was presented with the award at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium after beating fellow nominees Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Gabourey Sidibe, and Meryl Streep.

Jeff Bridges was also presented with the same award he won at last week's ceremony.

The 60-year-old actor was given the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award for his portrayal as a country singer in 'Crazy Heart'.

Jeff - who beat off competition from George Clooney, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman and Jeremy Renner - said: "This means so much to be acknowledged by my acting family."

Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino's bloodied war film 'Inglourious Basterds' won the top honour of the night, after it was praised for its Outstanding Performance by a Cast.

Actor Eli Roth accepted the award.

He said: "Quentin your belief in us lets us rise to the occasion and brings out the best in all of us, it was an honour to be a part of this."

Actor Christoph Waltz was also given the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his work on the film.

'Inglourious Basterds' beat 'An Education', 'The Hurt Locker', 'Nine', and 'Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire' in the category.

Also last night, the Best Supporting Actress gong went to Mo'Nique, for 'Precious...' - which also stars singer-turned-actress Mariah Carey.

Meanwhile, '30 Rock' triumphed in the TV awards, with its lead stars Alex Baldwin and Tina Fey being named the best actor and best actress in a Comedy Series.
