Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder has said he can sympathise with fellow vampire actor Robert Pattinson as fans also ask him to bite them.
The 31-year-old plays the role of vampire Damon Salvatore in CW's TV series, which was adapted from the popular books by L.J Smith.
Asked when the last time someone asked him to bite them, he said: 'Oh, that happens quite often! I politely walk away.
'Also, I don't think my girlfriend, as sweet and open and wonderful as she is, would appreciate me walking around randomly biting women when they asked me to.'
Pattinson, 23, plays vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie series and previously said that fans often ask him to bite them.
