Diane Ladd, Laura Dern to play mother and daughter in HBO pilot

Diane Ladd and Laura Dern will make for a mother-daughter act in an upcoming HBO comedy pilot.
The Hollywood Reporter said the actresses will star as mother and daughter in Enlightened. They have previously appeared on screen together in the movies Rambling Rose, White Lightning, Wild At Heart, Citizen Ruth and Daddy And Them.
In the upcoming pilot, Dern will play a self-destructive woman who goes to live with her mother [Ladd] after a breakdown, the trade daily said.
Dern, 42, the daughter of Bruce, was born into an acting family and has had numerous movies and television roles including most recently, the Meet The Fockers sequel.
Luke Wilson is signed on to play the drug-addicted husband the woman leaves behind in the pilot.
