Pete Doherty mistaken über alles, German concert cut short

Pete Doherty - Singer and musician Pete Doherty of the Babyshambles sang a right-wing German national anthem ditty in Munich and the locals were not amused. © Solarpix / PR PhotosNME News reports that Doherty has since apologized for belting out a not so Kosher version of the German national anthem in Munich on Saturday.The scene of the crime was the On3 Festival, and NME reports that the festivities were "cut short" when Pete struck up 'Das Deutschlandlied' - a tune prohibited since the end of WWII.Doherty's publicist told NME he made an error: "[He] wanted to celebrate his appearance in Munich by assimilating and integrating with the crowd, something he tries do wherever he goes.""Peter himself is from Jewish descent and has fought against racism and fascism with numerous organisations including Love Music Hate Racism," she told NME. "This is a subject he feels very strongly about."
