It's a sad day when you realize the top celebrity news or gossip is over the iconic gay men's favorite go-to magazine featuring a no-account hockey player from Wasilla, who is famous merely because of his proximity to the white-hot ex Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

Johnston, who is comic Kathy Griffin's favorite dupe accessory, impregnated the ex Guv's daughter Bristol, and the fallout has been swift. Johnston has made a DListed career for himself shouting "she lies!" on shows like The Insider to video snippets of Palin being as diplomatic as she can over the Levi issue.
Well, Playgirl was smart, they picked the malleable hockey player up, dusted him off and got him to take classic gay porn poses, peek-a-booing over his shoulder and revealing tufts of pubic hair in the shower in their new spread.

On Tuesday, the first of Johnston's tame Twink shots for Playgirl were unleashed.
"Viewers are going to be pleased and surprised, Levi did not go completely full frontal, as was suggested by his camp a few weeks ago," Playgirl rep Daniel Nardicio told Page Six.
Johnston, 19, said on CBS' Early Show, "We don't want no bad boy image. I don't want to be looked at as someone who is getting naked for fame."
Johnston previously told Usmagazine.com, "I just get naked; that's what I do." But on the Early Show, he said, "I am not going to just get out there and get naked. I think when people see [the Playgirl spread], it's not going to be like what they think."
Levi's mommy is not enjoying the same sort of celebrity her son is. Sherry Johnston was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for dealing the prescription painkiller OxyContin.
The Anchorage Daily News reports that Johnston "made a deal with prosecutors to plead to a single felony count in exchange for dropping five other felony drug dealing charges against her. The deal called for the 42-year-old Wasilla woman to be sentenced to three years of prison time plus three years of probation, which is what the judge gave her. "
