Morrissey made a triumphant return to the stage last night (27.10.09).

The singer - who was hospitalised after collapsing onstage with breathing difficulties last weekend - performed at London's Royal Albert Hall, showing no sign of difficulty in performing.

Introducing his opening song 'This Charming Man', by his former band The Smiths, Morrissey told the crowd: "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride"

Although Morrissey made a few sly references to Swindon, the place of his collapse, his only direct reference to the incident was when he told the crowd: "The doctor said I shouldn't smile. I told him I don't."

At the end of fourth track 'How Soon Is Now?' the singer also mock-collapsed on the floor, but picked himself up after the song had ended, announcing: "Thank you Swindon".

The setlist largely drew from tracks from the be-quiffed frontman's B-Side compilation album 'Swords', and also included rarely played Smiths songs 'Nowhere Fast', 'Is It Really So Strange?' and 'Cemetry Gates'.

At the climax of the set Morrissey peeled his shirt off revealing his toned chest before leaving the stage. He then returned to play an encore of 'The First Of The Gang to Die'.
