Roman Polanski's arrest has allegedly caused his victim Samantha Geimer health problems and job loss concerns, and she just wants to be left alone, her attorney wrote in a court filing. Attorney Lawrence Silver urged a California appeals court to dismiss the criminal case against the "Chinatown" director.
The filing with the Second District Court of Appeal on Friday said Samantha Geimer and Silver have received over 500 media calls seeking comment since Polanski was arrested in Switzerland on Sept. 26.

Former prosecutor William Moran said in a press statement, “Roman Polanski pled guilty but fled before sentencing. While a court normally would hear from a rape victim before sentencing, such sentiments do not necessarily play into the final decision. But here, since Polanski is a fugitive and since his victim long ago settled with him for money, her entreaties to dismiss the criminal action likely will play no role at all.”
William Moran recently advised the New York Giants, its players and personnel in connection with the investigation into the Plaxico Burress shooting incident. Mr. Moran began his career as a prosecutor in the Kings County DA’s office in New York.
