Love, 45, was denied access to the trust set up for their daughter, Francis Bean Cobain.
According to CourthouseNews.com, Love and the Trust want the $1.2 million in Kurt Cobain's royalties account, First Republic Bank says in San Francisco Federal Court.First Republic says it planned to close the account "for reasons not relevant here."
According to their filed report, the bank asked Love and Laird Norton to submit "original jointly signed instructions" on how to disburse the money, and warned that it would file an interpleader action if they refused.
The waning funds Love inherited after Cobain's suicide are the core issue. Love's lawyer spoke to Page Six back in April 2009, and said that some of the people handling Kurt Cobain's estate "had lost all the money" Cobain had left her and their daughter, Frances Bean.
According to attorney Rhonda J. Homes, a team of accountants and lawyers found that Cobain's estate "had been looted of more than $30 million cash and up to $500 million in real estate."
"I have never seen such greed and moral turpitude. This case is going to make Bernard Madoff look warm and fuzzy," Love's lawyer, Rhonda J. Holmes, told Page Six.
The money woes have since piled up. American Express Love this May 2009, claiming she had run up $352,000 in credit card bills and did not pay.
Love's bodyguards sued her in September, claiming she owed more than $58,000 for their services.
Now the Sun (UK) reports Love, through hearsay text messages from "an insider" could not even afford to feed her daughter Frances Bean, 17.
The Sun writes that Love is soon to be evicted from the Mercer Hotel in New York, and texted: "I'm f****d now dude. I have 120 bucks, my kid hasn't had a decent meal and I'm getting evicted."
The Sun source claims: "She has really hit rock bottom. She's a financial disaster."
