Damon shared with "Extra" about his same-sex romantic co-star in the upcoming flick about Liberace.
In a 2002 excerpted interview with CNN's Larry King, Thorson told King he was jailbait when he met "Lee," his lover:
Larry King: So you're appearing now why? You're not appearing to sell the book that's not out.
Thorson: No, no. What I'm basically doing this interview for, Larry, is I'm so sick and tired of Liberace's people getting on national TV and bashing me, saying that I was nothing but a cocaine addict, just smearing my name.
You know, when Lee and I met I was 16-1/2 years old, Larry, 16 1/2. I was just a child.
Larry King: How did you meet?
Thorson: We met through a friend of his, his producer, Ray Arnett.
Larry King: What were the circumstances? Were you just a kid in high school?
Thorson: Basically, what happened was is I went up to Las Vegas and we saw a show. I was introduced to Lee. We went to his house the following day. And Liberace loved animals, dogs, and I was working for a veterinarian at that time -- I was a licensed health technician for -- and I was thinking about becoming a veterinarian. And what happened was that one of Lee's dogs had an infection in their eye, and I think Lee just saw the way I responded toward animals, and from there on.
Damon tells us that when he ran into the “Basic Instinct” star at the Toronto International Film Festival, Douglas said, "Get your ChapStick ready!"
Damon will play Scott Thorson, who sued Liberace for palimony in 1982.
Always up for an acting challenge, Matt, 39, gained 30 lbs. on pizza and beer, which he's since lost, for his role in “The Informant” - opening Friday in theatres.
“Extra’s” complete interview with Matt Damon airs tonight.
