The Oscar-winning Welsh actor - best known for playing cannibal serial killer Hannibal Lecter in three films - won over everyone from his co-stars to the make-up team when he showered them with personalised gifts.
A source on the set of the film - an untitled production from director Woody Allen - said: "He has to be the nicest guy in showbiz. During filming he flew off for a weekend break to Italy and came back baring presents for everyone.
"He bought silk scarves for all the make-up girls and even painted them a picture each."
Anthony, 72, stars in the film - which is being made in London - alongside an all-star cast including 'Slumdog Millionaire' beauty Freida Pinto, 'King Kong' actress Naomi Watts, Antonio Banderas and 'W' actor Josh Brolin.
Anthony is also said to be keeping his co-stars and the crew amused on set.
The source added to Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "He keeps everyone laughing with his proper dad-style jokes. He's so funny."
