Jackson's son cries for dad

Sep 14, 2009, 5:00 GMT

Michael Jackson's son Prince Michael II cries himself to sleep every night.

The late pop star's seven-year-old son - known as 'Blanket' - is so distraught about his father's death from acute Propofol intoxication on June 25 he constantly asks where his "daddy" is and sobs in his bedroom.

A Jackson family friend said: "He cries himself to sleep and keeps asking where his daddy is. His aunt Rebbie spent the first few nights sleeping on a cot bed beside him because he was scared to sleep alone. He acts pretty wild during the day."

Michael's three children - 12-year-old son Prince Michael I, 11-year-old daughter Paris and Blanket - have been looked after by their legal guardian and grandmother Katherine since the 'Thriller' singer's passing.

While the youngest sibling is visibly emotional, Paris is reportedly coping with her grief in quieter ways.

The source explained to Britain's The Sunday Times Magazine: "Paris does a lot of reading and watercolour painting and hair-braiding with her cousins, who visit every day and she speaks regularly to a handful of friends on her mobile phone."

But the eldest, Prince, has reported caused such concern by spending hours playing computer games, Katherine has had to put time restrictions on his internet sessions.

The source added: "Katherine makes sure that internet access is monitored and time-limited around the house."

Meanwhile, educational consultant Tony Buzan - who was employed by Michael to help give him tips on raising the children - has spoken about how close the three kids were to their father.

He said: "I would watch them coming and going from the international school every day. They left happy, and came back happy. On their return, those three kids could not run any faster from the car to get to their daddy.

"The kids seemed to enjoy each other's company. It's unusual in groups of three, where tensions can often arise."

Meanwhile, it has been revealed Michael's brother Jermaine will honour the late pop star at this year's MOBO awards.

The 54-year-old former Jackson Five singer will take to the stage with Shaheen Jafargholi, 12, for the award show which celebrates music of black origin.

'Britain's Got Talent' finalist Shaheen performed to an estimated one billion people when he sang at the Michael Jackson memorial concert in July.

Jermaine is due to sing 'Smile' at the upcoming ceremony when it takes place in Glasgow's Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) arena on September 30.

He said: "I am delighted to be performing at this year's MOBO Awards. My family and I have been involved in the global pop music business for over half a century, and it is amazing to see influences from our era in modern day black music artists. I am looking forward to coming to Scotland, meeting the artists, and being part of MOBO 2009".
