Ungaro goes down-market with Haute mess, Lindsay Lohan

Ungaro, a house of couture that defined the "Haute" in the eighties and nineties, has seemingly eyed the more lucrative down-market demographic of teens who shop in Hot Topic and H&M.  They have hitched their brand to legging and self-tanner entrepreneur and occasional actress Lindsay Lohan.

Early today a miffed Lohan tweeted indecipherable rants at Samantha Ronson, her girlfriend.

Lohan tweeted: @samantharonson can you make an attempt to not ruin ANYTHIzG positive that i have FINALLY deserved just to cry myself to sleep with your cheats, errors, and thank you...for being a friend before a sell-out..........the term "self out" was coined from ME and i gave them sooooooo much insight For their not only COMPLETE, BUT SUBSTANISAN ***FRIENDS*********** BUT YOU DID perform to her..you JUST told me that your friends are worth more than i am 2 your family & that i'm gross*thx

But wait, there's more! Some kind soul hacked into Lohan's voice mail and grabbed the recorded messages that reflect how god-awfully depressing and empty most of the people in her life are when they aren't telling waiters to put their drinks on Lindsay's tab. The whole mess is posted on Gawker, but here is the recording:

The fashion world has been embracing Lohan, who recently appeared as a judge on "Project Runway."

The House of Emanuel Ungaro just announced that Estrella Archs, the designer for Nina Ricci, Emilio Pucci, Christian Lacroix and Prada, will be their chief designer. Lohan and Archs are "collaborating" and their "efforts" will be revealed in the Paris spring collection on Oct. 4.

The president of Ungaro, Mounir Moufarrige, says, "Twenty-first century muses are extroverts whose personal style and experience gives them strong creative and artistic focus."
