The 46-year-old director, who is currently single, plans to become a writer and find the right woman to have children with.
He said: "I will retire at 60. It is a good age to stop making movies. I could start writing novels and film criticism and become a man of letters. And then I could finally have a family.
"I could actually see sometime in the next three years a play possibly being in my future."
Quentin - who has previously been romantically linked to Mira Sorvino, Sofia Coppola and Kathy Griffin - admits his desire to become a father has overpowered him in the past.
The 'Inglourious Basterds' director explained to Britain's The Times newspaper: "There was a time, about five years ago, when I did have baby fever, that I wanted to have a child. Now I still want to be a father - but I don't have baby fever. I want work to be the most important thing for now."
