Katie Price claims Peter Andre tried to completely change her.

The former glamour model insisted she feels relieved that her relationship with the singer - who she married in September 2005 after meeting on UK reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004 - is over because she can no be herself again.

She said: "Whenever anybody gets married they have to change a bit to compromise. There's changing something and there's trying to completely change someone.

"I tried for five years to be someone I wasn't to make our relationship work. I was never going to leave him, I wanted to make it work. In the last two years we had marriage counselling. It's as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now."

In a further attack on Peter - with who she raises three children, Harvey, seven, Junior, four, and Princess Tiaamii, two - Katie said she wants her next boyfriend to have talent.

She said: "I like a man with a talent. They have to have some kind of drive. It's very unattractive for a man to be none of those things."

The 31-year-old beauty again insisted she was not responsible for the end of her marriage, criticising her estranged spouse for his "stupid" reasons for leaving her, singling out her alleged relationship with riding instructor Andrew Gould.

She told BBC Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright: "I never wanted to split up with him. The reasons he split up with me were so stupid - it was all to do with the Andrew guy. It was us working together and that was a big issue for him."

Peter, 36, is said to be hurt by Katie's latest comments, particularly after she revealed she has converted his beloved music studio in their Surrey home into her own office, but is being advised by friends to resist the urge to hit back.

A source said: "She really knows how to rub Peter up the wrong way - and this interview would have really rattled him. It's fair to say that there is no love lost.

"Katie was hurting after the split and didn't want to say anything but now she feels it's time to speak out. It really is no-holds barred - poor Pete should keep his head down."
