The notable born-again Baldwin who starred with his brother Daniel Baldwin on NBC's "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here" in the bug infested jungles of Costa Rica has reportedly fallen on hard times.
Stephen, who starred in "Bio-Dome" and "Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice," filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York Tuesday, according to ABC news.
His court papers revealed he owes more than $2.3 million, according to ABC.
The bulk of the debt is owed in two mortgages for their home in Rockland County, N.Y., valued at $1.1 million. Court filings also show the actor owes $70,000 in credit card debt and more than $1 million in taxes.
His home was scheduled for auction today, the Journal News of White Plains, N.Y., reported earlier, according to ABC.
The Associated Press reports the actor bought the property for $515,000 in 1997. Baldwin and his wife listed the house for sale in 2006, but it sat unsold and they defaulted on over $824,000 in payments.
The bright spot for Baldwin is he has five films in various stages of post-production to active development in his future, according to his IMDB page.
