Image then, the power struggle between Jessica Simpson, used to people on her payroll that "yes" her to death, writing her press releases and fussing with her hair, would have with a guy who makes millions and is adored by football fans, navigating tons of attractive willing sports groupies, would have with each other.
Rumor has it that when Simpson pressed Tony Romo to put up or shut up in the marriage department, it sent the footballer packing.
The National Enquirer claims that is exactly what transpired, that the Dallas Cowboys quarterback "dumped" the buxom singer on July 9, the night before her 29th birthday, after the two could not come to an agreement on when the desired wedding would be.
"Tony pulled the plug because he couldn't stand the constant heat Jessica was putting on him to get married," said an unnamed source to the Enquirer.
The same source went on to say the Simpson pending birthday party plans were the cherry on the icing of Romo's discontent:
"The final nail in the coffin was an argument they had over how to celebrate Jessica's birthday. She wanted a splashy Ken & Barbie-themed bash with all of her celebrity friends, and Tony wanted a quiet, low-key dinner for just the two of them.
"When Jessica pushed, Tony blew up and shouted, 'I hate this stupid stuff and your whole fake Hollywood life!'
