By my calculations 15% would be $52.50, so he was short just $2.50. What a crime.

and major cities it is 20% especially if you stay a long time and the service was good or better....

He should have left 70 bucks at least for the staff who were made to stay late

just because he missed 15% by a few bucks doesnt mean he's a bad person. He was probably tierd and missed a few bucks. You guys should leave him alone. Seriously. And im not defending him because im his biggest fan, im defending him because somebody needs to stand up for him. And i'll start with this. Thank you

If it had of been anybody else, we would not even be hearing about. Please! Just another article to make him look bad. Also, the restaurant is only using Rob's fame for their own personal gain. Rob is a good person and it was a simple mix-up. If I were him though, I would never ever step foot inside that particular restaurant again if they want to be buttholes about it. They are lucky to have any famous person go in their establishment. Move on people.

I agree this is so dumb people tent to forget that tipping is not mandatory and living over in Europe we don't tip at all for anything. My husband finds it hard to remember when we go to the states to tip and he wouldn't even know the percentage to tip. Also with them complaining that it was first class service, the upper class restaurants i have been in the service isn't so great. They tend to be very snotty and full of themselves and expect big tips. Think they need to pull there heads out there you know what if i went in there and didn't tip big they wouldn't say a word.Give the poor guy (Rob) a break.

are you serious, so what he missed out on a few bucks... hes from England for god sake, the pommies dont tip nor do most of Europe or the Aussies. im studying hospitality right now and i would be very happy with 50 bucks. besides who knows if it was actually first class dining. not all first class dining is good... leave the guy alone. be happy with what you get.
