Robert Pattinson is terrified of being crushed by a falling building.
Five fire engines brought 20 firemen racing to the 'Twilight' hunk's side after an alarm sounded, indicating an old building was about to collapse near the set of his new movie 'Remember Me'.
The sensor had been installed to monitor the width of a crack forming in a derelict building less than 100 feet from where the British actor is filming in Manhattan and the alarm went off after the gap dangerously increased.
Crew members are now so concerned for the 23-year-old's safety, they feel their attention is slipping from the movie.
A source told America's OK! magazine: "Robert is concentrating on his scene, but most of the crew are staring nervously at the crack in the building and talking about whether it will fall down or not."
Meanwhile, production staff are frustrated the closely-monitored building is slowing down filming.
One crew member said: "It's causing a hold-up for the shoot. We can't get anything in or out of here."
Last week, the heartthrob was hit by a taxi as he ran to escape a mob of screaming teenage fans.
