Kaczmarek was the bright spot on "Malcolm in the Middle," as Malcolm's harried mom who managed the house. Her latest role is Judge Trudy Kessler on TNT's legal drama "Raising the Bar," which began its second season June 8.
Monsters and Critics spoke to Kaczmarek during a "Raising the Bar" set visit when show creator Steven Bochco assembled the cast to talk to reporters, and Jane was adamant her return to television had to accommodate her demanding personal life. "I had told Steven that the only way I could see myself doing this role was to work more normal hours, a lesser production grind than a typical network show. I am a full-time mom and I work on a limited basis. (Steven's) Judge Kessler character allowed me to do this, I could work about 20 days a year and I get to have my life the rest of the time. It’s an ideal situation for me," shared Jane.
Jane also spoke of her charity foundation, Clothes Off Our Backs. "This is an incredible chance to give back in a meaningful way," shared Jane. "Our foundation raises money for children’s charities by selling celebrity clothing and other items through online auctions. We’ve raised over $4 million dollars with the help of generous of heart and time people, who wanted to give back," said Jane.
The celebrity couple are asking fans to respect their privacy during the split.
Whitford was a lead actor on smallscreen series, "The West Wing." Together they have three children.
