Cher supports sex change daughter

Cher supports her daughter's decision to have a sex change.
The 'Believe' singer's daughter Chastity Bono announced last week she has begun the surgical process to become a man and will now be known as Chaz.
In a statement, Cher said: "Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support.
"I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny, and although I may not understand, I will strive to be understanding. The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child."
While Cher now supports her daughter's choice to swap gender, she was initially shocked when she came out as a lesbian at the age of 18. According to Chaz's 1998 book 'Family Outing' her mother sent her to a series of psychiatrists after she admitted she was a lesbian.
Even though Cher once caught her daughter in a clinch with a female college friend, the singer refused to accept her daughter was gay.
Cher, 63, previously admitted: "I flipped out. I'd always had this idea that she would get married and have a family."
Chaz's father, Cher's ex-husband Sonny Bono, was more accepting of her sexuality.

She stepped out in Los Angeles to get a massage wearing shorts, a T-shirt and baseball cap to get a massage. Onlookers said Chaz easily passed as a male.

First, I want to say that I love Cher and her family. I have so many great memories of playing the part of Cher during the days of Sonny and Cher in my home. I believe and this is just me but please don't blame yourself for the decison that Chaz is making now. She's an adult and has the right to do and be whatever she wants to be. I know that you Love and will support her to keep her on earth as long as possible. I believe that no one should tamper with their bodies in anyway to undo what God has given even if they don't want it. I believe her when she says that she's not happy with her body image the weight, the breast, etc. Believe me when I say this, she will not be happy with this change either. Chaz I watched her on celebrity fitness and she is just a beautiful spirit I think she has a great charm about herself. Chaz if you hear or see this blog you don't need surgery to be who you want to be. What is this going to do for you? nothing absolutely nothing will change but the pain that's inside of you will increase. I think that you should have a real heart to heart with your Mother,and tell her what happened to you that's so painful you couldn't share. Now is the time. I'm a Mother and my own daughter has issues with the way I raised her but I haven't always made the right decisons or said the right things and my daughter believes in her heart that I didn't Love her. Which is so crazy to me but that's what her heart believes. She's my only daughter and I have one son they are my life I would give my life for them. Well this is playing out like the movie Mask to me. I hope someone can reach deep inside Chaz's heart and cut out the pain because surgery you can't have kids and if you don't sleep with men it can't happen anyway so why have surgery. freeze your eggs just in case on a good day hire someone to carry it and give your Mother an offspring from your own flesh and blood.
